The EmpowHer - Violence Against Women & Girls (VAWG) course is coming to locations across Hampshire, with one clear aim - to empower women and girls with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills to feel safer in everyday life.

This course is designed to address the real-world risks women and girls may face, whether walking home, travelling, socialising, or simply going about daily routines. It focuses on awareness, prevention, and practical self defence techniques that are easy to learn, effective under pressure, and suitable for all ages and fitness levels.

Delivered by experienced instructors, all serving or former police officers, the course provides a supportive and non-intimidating environment where participants can learn at their own pace. You will explore situational awareness, boundary setting, verbal assertiveness, and simple physical techniques to help escape common grabs and attacks.

EmpowHer is not about fear - it is about confidence. Understanding risk, trusting your instincts, and knowing how to respond can make a powerful difference. By the end of the course, participants leave feeling stronger, more aware, and better prepared to protect themselves and others.

This course is ideal for women and girls who want practical skills, increased confidence, and peace of mind - whether for themselves, their daughters, or loved ones.
