These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of this website, online member system, booking features and all associated services operated by ACT SELF DEFENCE CIC (company number 14204958), operating from our physical training centre in Fareham, Hampshire.
By using this website or attending any A.C.T. Self Defence session, you agree to follow these terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the website or participate in training.
1. About Us
ACT SELF DEFENCE CIC is a Community Interest Company providing real-world self-defence training, fitness sessions, conflict-management education and associated services. 2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to train independently with us. Participants under the age of 16 must have a parent or responsible adult present or within the vicinity of the venue at all times.
3. User Accounts
Creating an account allows you to:

- Access your digital membership card
- Update medical information
- View upcoming bookings
- Receive session reminders and confirmations
You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and ensuring the information in your account remains accurate and up to date.
4. Medical Information
For safety reasons, all members must keep their medical information up to date in the "My Account" section. This includes:
- Allergies
- Asthma or respiratory issues
- Injuries
- Any conditions affecting physical activity
- Emergency considerations instructors must be aware of
Failure to disclose relevant medical information may increase risk during training. A.C.T. cannot be held responsible for injuries or adverse outcomes if you have not updated this information.
5. Annual Waiver Requirement
To participate in any session, you must agree to our annual participation waiver. This waiver:
- Confirms your understanding of the physical nature of training
- Acts as part of our duty of care
- Must be renewed every 12 months
If your waiver has expired, you will be unable to book or attend sessions until it is renewed.
6. Booking Sessions
All bookings are made through your online member account. You will receive an email confirmation containing:

- A link to add the session to your digital calendar
Attendance helps instructors plan staffing, safety considerations, and equipment.
7. Cancellations
You may cancel any booked session through your dashboard. Members are expected to cancel promptly so places can be offered to others.
A.C.T. reserves the right to cancel or reschedule sessions due to instructor availability, venue requirements, or unforeseen circumstances.
8. Payments
At present, no payments are taken through the website. However, we reserve the right to introduce online payment processing in future using secure PCI-compliant third-party processors such as Stripe or PayPal.

A.C.T. reserves the right to refuse participation to anyone whose behaviour poses a risk to themselves or others.
